The success of every project is considered as a critical objective to ensure that the project was completed per requirements of the project owner or beneficiary. The project execution normally consists of different phases until completion. This research paper focuses on a vital part of the projects which is the project closure phase. The paper describes the project closure phase, the relationship between a project and its closure phase, reasons for project closure failure, and requirements needed by project managers to ensure projects are closed successfully. Therefore, the goal of this research resides in the fact that project managers should be fully aware of the process of the project closure phase in order to complete the closure phase successfully. Additionally, to carry out this study a review of the specialized literature on project closure phase was carried out in an attempt to understand the project closure phase conceptually. Therefore, a descriptive research approach selected to guide the research outline and provide the success factors for project closure phase. The content of this research paper will help project managers understand the closing phase of the project and successfully complete the final project reports. Moreover, there are limited studies that have presented on the current practices of project closing phase and how the application of project closing can be employed to enhance project success in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This research paper could be used to develop new thinking of dealing with the project closing phase.
